As I had done sight seeing already my first times I had been to Berlin, I didn’t do it anymore. The weather was also too bad to take pictures while passing by some typical tourist spots (On the sunny day I took the picture above, but on the other days it was rainy and snowy).
But that allowed me to be indoors a lot – doing a bit of shopping (Besides some smaller items, cosmetics and a midi-skirt, I bought a grey jeans from J Brand and a white coat from Max Mara which I can wear perfectly together with the new jeans on casual events or use on business occasions) and mostly having some food experiences. Besides my lunch at Vau and dinner at Lubitsch I did the following things:
Sweet treats at Galerie Lafayette (but I ate a fancy strawberry mousse cake – sorry no pic):
Italian Pasta and Wine at the food court of KaDeWe, where you can eat freshly prepared meals besides doing high-end grocery shopping:
Classic Berlin Dishes (Veal Liver and a Potato Soup) at Lutter & Wegner, which is a traditional local restaurant and a established institution at Gendarmenmarkt:
Drinks at Literaturhaus, which is also nice for having a cake:
Dinner at Grill Royal, the place to be Steakhouse – good place to start the night (unfortunately the picture of the steak platter didn’t turn out well – so here are only the side dishes – au gratin potatoes very recommendable!):
Sunday Lunch at Grosz, newcomer with old-berlin charm, coffee-house style:
And I stayed at the Westin. It is maybe not the “newest” place, but it still very good. The location is top and I did like the breakfast, as it offered several choices of healthy smoothies and had a large cereal buffet and a solid fruit selection.
