My mom came back from her recent vacation in the Philippines and brought along some gifts for a food lover. Among dried Mangoes (by the way, if you haven’t tried ripe fresh Filipino Mangoes until now, you have not tasted the best ones on the whole planet yet!) and Pili nuts, she treated me with the sweet Polvorons. I love the flourish texture, which truly melts in your mouth (unlike the Spanish ones). Polvorons remind me of my grandfather whom I only had the chance to meet for about 2 weeks as a child. However, I still remember that he gave me Polvorons when I was a child visiting the Philippines and at that time I already couldn’t stop eating them each after another. Now I got an assorted mix of Polverons from Goldilocks and it is sooo delicious (Goldilocks is a Filipino fast food chain mainly known for its cakes, but you can also get spring rolls, sio paos and other dishes at Goldilocks). My favourite are Cookies’n’Cream and Pinipig. Have I mentioned that I can’t wait for my next trip to the Philippines?!
